From Development to Deployment on Multiple Clouds

OpenCloudware Logo One of the most exciting projects that UShareSoft is currently working on is OpenCloudware, funded by the French government through the "Fonds National pour la Société Numérique" (FSN).

OpenCloudware aims to build an open software engineering platform for the collaborative development of distributed applications to be deployed on multiple cloud infrastructures. The project kicked off in January this year, and will last until December 2014. Outputs from the project will be made available as open-source components via the OW2 Consortium, of which UShareSoft is a Corporate Member.

UForge Gets Bigger and Better with SUSE Support

The much awaited UForge 3.2.6 version has finally arrived. The focus of this release was to provide a UForge CLI to allow administrators to manage their UForge instances better, but more importantly to continue to be the most operating system agnostic platform for generating server templates on the market. This release now boasts support for the following operating systems:

  • openSUSE 11.4 and 12.1
  • Scientific Linux 5.7 and 6.2
  • Ubuntu 12.04 (LTS)
  • Fedora 16

 

Other improvements include support for Eucalyptus 3.0, OpenStack ESSEX and the new Nimbula 2.0 version. You can read the full release notes here.
